Petra Esveld
studied graphic design at the University of Arts (ArtEZ) in the Netherlands. After a year as art director at Avant Garde magazine Avenue, she worked for seven years in Barcelona at Studio Peret, among others, and freelanced as art director and illustrator for el Collegio de Arquitectos Catalunya, La Caixa, La Vanguardia magazine and the architecture magazine Quaderns de la Arquitectura.
Back in Amsterdam, she worked for clients such as Amnesty International and the Museum of Modern Art Arnhem and was Art Director of ELLE Amsterdam for 6 years.
After moving to Wiesbaden, Petra Esveld focused on teaching editorial design and typography alongside freelance work, including at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and the GJU in Amman, Jordan.
Her work has received many international awards and has been included in the permanent collection of the Groningen Museum of Modern Art.
Together with Peter Post, she founded a pop-up design studio where she works on projects in the field of public welfare and civil society, among others.
