About the Designer
Markus Lange is a graphic designer, screen printer, photographer and educator, living and working in Nuremberg. His work focuses on typography, poster design, editorial design, publishing and documentary photography. After his studies in graphic design at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle (Saale), which he graduated in 2016 with a master’s degree in editorial design, he worked for Studio Adrian Mellegers and Mainstudio in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2014 he founded the multidisciplinary design studio Farn in Leipzig together with product designer Sophie von Gebhardi. Since 2014 he has also been working with Lars Harmsen on the international collaborative screen print project Poster Rex. Between 2018 and 2023 Markus Lange teached graphic design with a focus on typography, poster design and editorial design at the German University in Cairo in Egypt. He has also taught at numerous universities in Germany, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Egypt and regularly participates in international exhibitions. Markus Lange has received numerous international awards for his work and has been honored with the Award for Typographic Excellence in New York and Tokyo by the Type Directors Club. Since September 2023 Markus Lange is Professor for Graphic Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg, Germany.
